Speaker Biography:

Dr. Jessica Pang practiced in London, England as a small animal practitioner and anesthesia consultant for a large multi-centre veterinary group. From 2010 to 2016, she served as a research associate in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary.
She then spent three years as an Anesthesia Clinician and Instructor at the Université de Montréal before returning to the University of Calgary in 2019 as a Clinical Instructor of Anesthesia. Dr. Pang joined Alberta Veterinary Dentistry in 2021, became a partner in 2023, and now works full-time at AVD as lead anesthetist.
She remains involved with the University of Calgary as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Her primary roles at AVD include leading the anesthesia service, supporting and training the AVD team, reviewing case management for every patient, and helping provide advanced care for high-risk patients.
Dr. Pang also offers sedation and anesthesia services for exotic, pocket pet, and domestic outpatient cone beam CT patients. Her work is centered on thoughtful planning, patient safety, and excellent anesthetic care across a wide range of cases.

Speaker Biography:

Dr. Brittney Rigby is a veterinarian with advanced training in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin and completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre before returning to the University of Wisconsin for a residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery.
Her advanced training included complex dental procedures, maxillofacial surgery, oncologic surgery, and management of traumatic facial injuries. Dr. Rigby joined Alberta Veterinary Dentistry in 2022 and is now a co-owner of the practice.
In addition to providing advanced clinical care, she helps guide the clinic’s clinical standards, education initiatives, and long-term growth as a center for veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. Her clinical interests include all aspects of veterinary dentistry and oral surgery, with particular passion for pediatric dentistry and feline oral surgery.
Dr. Rigby also lectures and teaches hands-on training in veterinary dentistry and is committed to advancing dental care for animals through education. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husband Michael and their cats, Archibald and Ogden.
