Feline Dental Anatomy: A review of gross and radiographic feline dental and facial anatomy. 

Common Feline Dental Pathology: Case-based discussions on the topics of tooth resorption, periodontal disease, feline chronic gingivostomatitis, malocclusions, endodontic disease, and orofacial trauma.

Peripheral Nerve Blocks for Feline Dental Surgery: Review of peripheral nerve block physiology and instruction on administration of peripheral nerve blocks for feline dental surgery patients.

Speaker Biography:


Dr. Brittney Rigby
BSc, DVM, DAVDC, Board Certified Veterinary Dentist, Alberta Veterinary Dentistry
 

Dr. Brittney Rigby is a veterinarian with advanced training in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin and completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre before returning to the University of Wisconsin for a residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

 

Her advanced training included complex dental procedures, maxillofacial surgery, oncologic surgery, and management of traumatic facial injuries. Dr. Rigby joined Alberta Veterinary Dentistry in 2022 and is now a co-owner of the practice.

 

In addition to providing advanced clinical care, she helps guide the clinic’s clinical standards, education initiatives, and long-term growth as a center for veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. Her clinical interests include all aspects of veterinary dentistry and oral surgery, with particular passion for pediatric dentistry and feline oral surgery.

 

Dr. Rigby also lectures and teaches hands-on training in veterinary dentistry and is committed to advancing dental care for animals through education. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her husband Michael and their cats, Archibald and Ogden.
