This session will discuss clinical use of both Solensia and Librela including patient selection and implementation. We will use cases to highlight a team approach to OA management with an emphasis on anti-NGF mAb therapy, monitoring response to therapy and how and when to use as part of a multimodal pain management strategy. This lecture will be an evidence based approach to OA management for both cats and dogs and will highlight monitoring tools and recent literature to help guide therapy to get our patients moving and feeling better.

New therapies in feline cardiology: rapamycin, rivaroxaban, and pimobendan in cats.
The last few years have brought several attractive and important new treatment options for cats with heart disease. As with any emerging therapies, knowing the advantages and drawbacks, the ideal applications in various patients, and the role of these options compared to established therapies is essential for using them well. This seminar will review these practical aspects.
General anesthesia of dogs and cats with heart disease.
Cardiac disease increases anesthetic risk, and yet most dogs and cats with heart disease can be anesthetized and recovered safely. This seminar will review methods to manage patients with heart disease when they need to be anesthetized.

Sun Apr 6/25 Extraction of the Maxillary Fourth Premolar and Molars in Dogs (ZOOM)
Sun, Apr 6, 2025 Agenda: Online live via. Zoom only (no in-person option but will be recorded) Link to flyer PRE-REQUISITE FOR WET LAB but anyone can attend. Description: This 2-hour lecture will provide an in-depth review of the gross and radiographic anatomy of the maxillary fourth premolar and molars in dogs. We will review how to identify common pathology associated with these teeth including abnormal dental chart findings and radiographic abnormalities. We will discuss important tips for administration of regional nerve blocks to provide appropriate analgesia various surgical approaches for these teeth including surgical and non-surgical extractions, open root-planning, and closure techniques. This lecture is a required pre-requisite to attend the subsequent wet-lab.

Sun, Apr 27, 2025 Agenda: IN-PERSON DENTISTRY WET LAB CAVM Members (vets) will get priority registration. If there are any spots left it will open to EASAV vet members and non-member vets. Link to flyer The lecture on Sun Apr 6/25 is a pre-requisite for this wet lab. Description: Hands-on application of the surgical techniques discussed during the lecture including practice of surgical and non-surgical extraction of the maxillary fourth premolar and molars in a canine cadaver specimen. During the lab we will be able to cater to a wide range of skill levels from beginner practitioners trying to nail down the basics of dental extractions to skilled practitioners aiming to improve their speed and reduce patient morbidity.
