This 2 hour session will take veterinary teams through a day with psychological health and safety, identify workplace hazards, and highlight how everyone contributes to workplace psychological health and safety. Learning outcomes include how to conduct quantitative self assessments, how to check in with your employer about your mental health status, and how to speak to a colleague/coworker about mental health.

After attending in the initial 2 hour session for veterinary teams, in this next 2 hours; practice leaders (which includes; owners, managers, supervisors, team leaders) will learn more about how psychological health and safety bolsters organizational advantages, employee engagement, offers risk protection and supports current legislative requirements for safe work. Leaders will explore possible workload management concepts to improve psychological protection and overcoming burnout challenges.

Agenda:

Veterinarians who find themselves wondering about how they can prevent occupational psychological mental health injuries, will discover how to use quantitative stress, burnout, and resilience assessments to improve and protect their mental health, as well as recognize their boundaries.

DVMs will gain a new perspective about early warning signs, noticing psychological injuries, and how to have a conversation with someone they are concerned about. These new skills are excellent for anyone who isn't sure what a psychological injury looks like and how it can be prevented.
